Sarah Says NO

Governor Sarah Palin has declined 45% of the stimulus money for Alaska saying:

"We are not requesting funds intended to just grow government. We are not requesting more money for normal day-to-day operations of government as part of this economic stimulus package. In essence we say no to operating funds for more positions in government."

Now look who's trying to put lipstick on a pig ...

A Bit More on President Bush's Book

"News of the book emerged Tuesday when Bush spoke in Canada. Tentatively called "Decision Points," the book is scheduled for a 2010 release by Crown, an imprint of the Crown Publishing Group, which in turn is a division of Random House Inc. Financial details were not disclosed. Instead of telling his life story, Bush will concentrate on about a dozen personal and presidential choices, including giving up drinking, picking Dick Cheney as his vice president and sending troops to Iraq."

Obama to Appear On Leno

"Newbie President Barack Obama appears to be willing to try everything to get the word out regarding his plans for the future of the nation, because he'll be breaking presidential precedent by appearing on Jay Leno's talk show, favored by millions of slumbering Americans. No word on why the Obama camp didn't choose Jimmy Fallon's spanking new show."
Someone needs to tell the President that he can stop campaigning now ...

Guantanamo Inmates No Longer "Enemy Combatants"

"The Obama administration stopped calling Guantanamo inmates "enemy combatants" on Friday and incorporated international law as its basis for holding the prisoners while it works to close the facility.

The U.S. Justice Department filed court papers outlining a further legal and linguistic shift from the anti-terrorism policies of Republican President George W. Bush, which drew worldwide condemnation as violations of human rights and international law.

"As we work toward developing a new policy to govern detainees, it is essential that we operate in a manner that strengthens our national security, is consistent with our values, and is governed by law," U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement."

So do we get to call them "terrorists" again, or is that too mean?

What do you think we should call the inmates at Club Gitmo?

White House Attacks Cheney

"Asked whether his caustic tone in responding to Cheney was proper, Gibbs said, Sometimes I ask forgiveness rather than for permission ... I hope my sarcasm didn't mask the seriousness of the answer."
